Our Roots | Las Tarascas. Taqueria & Market

From Michoacán to Texas
Las Tarascas comes from the heart of Michoacán. Lety, a proud native with over 30 years of experience in the food industry, brought her family’s cooking traditions to Texas nearly two decades ago. What started as a small market store has grown into a place where people can find prepared foods, groceries, and everyday items that reflect true Mexican and Latin American heritage.

A True Mercado Experience
At Las Tarascas, the focus is on simple, traditional food and daily life. Guests visit for fresh prepared dishes, meats by the pound, daily and weekend specials, and a wide selection of Mexican and Latin American groceries and edibles. It is a market and taqueria experience inspired by the local mercados of Mexico, where food and community come together.

Authentic Roots
The roots of Las Tarascas stay connected to tradition. The store takes its name from La Fuente de las Tarascas in Morelia, a symbol of abundance, culture, and strength. That meaning continues in every part of the store, from the food prepared daily to the products on the shelves, keeping Michoacán’s heritage alive in Katy, TX.
